This Festive Cocktail – The Method
WHere is an easy take on a beverage from our latest cocktail list. Designed as a batch premix that is bursting with flavours of the holiday season, making it perfect for a holiday party. Save the extra cordial for brunch beverages, puddings, or to mix another batch of this cocktail.
Bikini Recipe
Makes enough for 10 people
To make the Clementine Cordial (makes 750ml)
300ml fresh clementine juice
200ml newly squeezed lemon juice
500g fine sugar
Ingredients for the Premix (yields 850ml, enough for 10)
400ml decent vodka
100ml classic gin
150ml peach schnapps
200ml clementine cordial (see above)
Whole cranberries, for garnish
Mandarin essential oil, as a final touch
Instructions
To prepare the Syrup: Put all the components into a saucepan, heat until it reaches a gentle boil, mixing so the sugar melts. After that, remove from the burner and let it to cool down completely. Transfer to a clean bottle, close it keeping it in the refrigerator, it can be stored for around four weeks.
To make Batch Mix: Mix all the spirits and syrup in a big jug, leave to sit for one hour, then strain , ideally through muslin, making it fully clarified.
When ready to serve: Measure 85ml of your cocktail base to a cocktail shaker containing ice, and stir carefully for a minute to cool it down. Filter to a frosted cocktail glass or a similar vessel, top with some cranberries and complete it with a quick spritz of mandarin oil over the top.
